A North Pole man was arrested Saturday for allegedly sexually abusing a teenager.
According to a criminal complaint, North Pole police received an anonymous tip on April 4 that a teenager girl was sneaking out of her house to have sex with 47-year-old Larry Lepeer Thoms. Jr.
Thoms reportedly sexually abused the girl 20 times between October 2024 and March 2025 at his Marquette Loop house.
The teenager watched Thoms’ dog and brought him food. Thoms told the teenager in October 2024 that he wanted to have a “safe relationship” with her and that he wanted to have sex with her.
Thoms reportedly told the teenager that he had a vasectomy so she didn’t have to worry about getting pregnant.
Thoms was charged Saturday with two counts of felony second-degree sexual abuse of a minor. Magistrate Judge Spenser Ruppert judge set his bail at $100,000 and ordered that Thoms not have any unsupervised contact with minors.
